R&D Technician Night Shift
San Jose, CA Temporary $30.00 - $39.00/hr Onsite

Job Description

Technician hire to work in Ceramic Film separator process engineering.

Shift: Night 6:30PM To 6:30AM Alternating Wednesdays, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. 12-hour shift.

1. 12 hr schedule working on process tools

2. Perform tasks as defined by engineers

3. Run process tools as per SOP and work on HMI operated systems

4. Identify product quality during processing and gather process details and upload to data recording systems

5. Able to work in a team environment and individually manage processes

6. Should be able to learn and get trained to handle operating tools.

Core Responsibilities

  • Cell Fabrication & Testing: Build coin cells, pouch cells, or proprietary solid-state devices following strict SOPs.
  • Experiment Support: Partner with engineers and scientists on materials processing, metrology, and lab experiments.
  • Data & Documentation: Record experimental data, track inventory, and report anomalies or results using MS Office or internal tools.
  • Lab Maintenance: Keep a clean, safe workspace and maintain equipment or supplies.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1+ years of hands-on experience in a laboratory, R&D, or process manufacturing environment.
  • Physical & Environmental: Ability to work in a dry room, fume hood, or glovebox requiring fine motor skills and lifting up to 15-25 lbs.
  • Soft Skills: Detail-oriented, team-focused, and able to communicate observations clearly.

Highly Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in the battery industry or hi-tech device assembly preferred but not a must.
  • Knowledge of failure analysis, ceramic coatings, or microscope-scale product a great plus.
